One more poem of Mir

dekh to dil ke jaan se uthta hai
yeh dhuan sa kahaan se uthta hai

(See if this rising smoke is coming out of my heart or,
is it from the soul I have?? )

gor kis dil jale ki hai yeh falak
shola eik subh-o-yahaan se uthta hai

(The sky above seems to be a tomb in the name of a grudged person,
as every morning i see a ball of fire rising up there… )

bethne kon de hai ke ji usko
jo tere aastaan se uthta hai

(Once I have been touched by you company
now no one will settle me as you did)

yun uth-he aaha us gali se hum
yun uth-he aaha us gali se hum
jaisay koi jahaan se uthta hai
yeh dhuan sa kahaan se uthta hai

(After I stopped meeting you,
and barred all communications…
I have no life in me either)

dekh to dil ke jaan se uthta hai

ishq eik meer bhari patthar hai
kab ye kuch naatwan se uthta hai

(Love is an extremely heavy stone “meer”,
For the weak ones cant even lift it, let alone carry it…)

Mir taqi mir-ten couplets (sher)

1. Ibtidaa-e-ishq hai rotaa hai kyaa, Aage aage dekhiye hotaa hai kyaa

(It’s the beginning of Love, why do you wail; Just wait and watch how things unveil)

This is perhaps the most-used couplet by Meer in today’s time. Whenever we face a demanding situation, we quote Meer, often without even knowing!

2. Patta patta, boota boota, haal hamaaraa jaane hai, Jaane na jaane gul hi na jaane, baagh to saaraa jaane hai.

(Every leaf and bud knows my situation, the flower doesn’t know but the whole garden knows it)

This couplet is unarguably the favourite for all those who’ve fallen in love in their life.

3. Baad marne ke meri qabr pe aaya wo ‘Mir’, Yaad aai mere Isa ko dawa mere baad’’

(O Mir, he came to my grave after I’d died; My messiah thought of a medicine after I’d died)

When someone comes to your rescue a little too late, you can always put on the literary hat and rattle out these lines.

4. Subah hoti hai shaam hoti hai, umra yoonhi tamaam hoti hai

Self-explanatory, isn’t it?

5. Bekhudi le gai kahaan humko, Der se intezaar hai apna

(Where has selflessness taken me, I’ve been waiting for myself for long)

Apt for both negative and positive situations, this can be quoted anytime you feel lost and want people to know.

6. Laga na dil ko kya suna nahi tune, jo kuch Meer ka aashiqui ne haal kiya
Warning your younger brother/sister against getting too deep in that casual college-affair? Use this couplet and get the message across, citing your own example of course!

7. Yaaro mujhe maaf karo main nashe mein hun, Ab do tu jaam khali hi do main nashe mein hun

Drunk or not, this is THE couplet when it’s time for some fun.

8. Kya kahun tum se main ke kya hai ishq, Jaan ka rog hai bala hai ishq
Another piece of wisdom on that intriguing feeling called love.

9. Mir ke deen-o-mazhab ka, poonchte kya ho unne to, kashka khaincha dair mein baitha kab ka tark Islam kiya”
(What can I tell you about Mir’s faith or belief ? A tilak on his forehead in a temple he resides, having abandoned Islam long ago).
Hate it when someone asks about your religion? Give them a fitting reply with these lines.

10. Ashk aankh mein kab nahi aata, Lahu aata hai jab nahi aata
(From my eye, when doesn’t a tear fall, Blood falls when it doesn’t fall)
Tell that to your boss, he/she might consider your promotion (or dismissal, don’t blame us!)

I m shattering in pieces as in little choped paper;

I m burning like a candle with alone as in a cave’s atmosphere;

I m slipping down as sand in fisted over;

My beloved soul is melting every momet in hour;

D ending time,my coffins,people prepare;

N my innocet life says -no,oh,never;

My all wishes’s bed as decorated fragrance flower;

I am preparing to restful sleep as my own wish in yarder;

Who is situated at horizon’s clowdy boarder;

Just like dis,my all love’s feelings going as soul wander;

In those foggy moments r coming to me as closer;

There r,i feel,presented my soul’s speaker;

N my voice is echoing there all over;

Yeah.dis is my place of my soul as searcher;

Here is dt definite place,i m believer;

May be Sun shut d window ever;

May be Moon locks d door of river port,pier;

I have nothing for world,don’t care;

All feelings of heart is like treasure;

So,i am confident coz i m supersoul’s nearer;

N my two empty hands may be not as

Emperor;

Bt by love;happy n able to be near my beloved  Superior.

khaali haath

Rooh-e-ishq katra katra pighlti rahi;.

Chindi-chindi si tukron me banti rahi;

Taareeq raton ki tanhaayian bhatkti rahi;

Aur jajbaati shamma-e-dil ki lau jalti rahi;

Jaise muththi se ret goya fisalti rahi;

Din ki khirkiyaan band hoti rahi;

Raat darwaajo pe taale lagaati rahi;

Kandha bhi dene aaye log par nahi,

Nahi nadaan si zindgi karti rahi.

Apne armaano ke sej pe phoolo si;

Khud apna majaar chinti rahi.

Vo tanhaaian,vo tasveer sab dhoondh si;

Mere dil me ek muhobbat ki he khushi;

Khaali haath aaye gaye sabhi;

Mahfil-e-maykhaano me akeli zindgi;

Shukar he saath khuda ki sarparsti; 

Ke mere khali haatho me larazti;

Roohani pyaar ke jaam ki he hasti.
